Language learning to support active social inclusion

Duration: 01-12-2020 – 01-12-2022

Project number: 2020-1-PL01-KA204-081750

The project Language Learning to Support Active Social Inclusion is a long term initiative created by 3 international partners: Fundacja Active Kids (Poland), A.D.E.L. – ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION AND LABOUR (Slovakia) and ASOCIACIJA TAVO EUROPA (Lithuania).

Upon completion of the project, the overall and most important expected result corresponds to our highest expectation: a paradigm shift in thinking that can be seen both in behaviour and in attitude.

This transformation involves a shift in perspective from a traditionalist approach to language education and teaching. While the learner is viewed as a receptor, for a more progressive communicative approach, it is essential to take into account the needs of the participants and the motivation to learn the language. This serves as the primary source to further follow educational activities and focuses on the development of communication skills in general, which are necessary for the 21st century.

Main aims and objectives:

-Developing a communication strategy in English for working with different groups of adult learners (including those with fewer opportunities, adults from rural areas, migrants and refugees);

-Developing communication strategies in English and non-verbal strategies to tackle problems related to cultural differences in order to facilitate understanding in international partnerships;

-Discovering the opportunities offered by CLT in adult language learning and sharing good practices in this field;

– Discovering the possibility of teaching the language through theatrical techniques such as integration games, improvisation and stage studies.
