VIeW – empowered Women

Duration : 01. 09.2023 – 28.02.2025.

Project number: 2023-1-BG01-KA210-YOU-000155509

The project enables us, youth workers from grassroots CSOs from Bulgaria, Lithuania, the Canary Islands and Cyprus, to take steps into small-scale European cooperation to better reach out to young females with fewer opportunities from remote communities on the mainland or offshore or impacted by the war in Ukraine. We aim to CONNECT and ENGAGE them with a support network and build their competencies. Then, EMPOWERED with the VIRAGO concept and human rights-based response against war, they will undertake inclusive national on/offline campaigns to tackle issues like human rights violations and irresponsible use of nature and promote resilience towards war, involving diverse females and Ukrainian refugees. That’s how the project links with the INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY priority and responds to the war in Ukraine.

Obj1-To network transnationally, share and integrate cross-sectoral practices and produce tailor-made educational tools to enhance the competencies of female youth workers to address common communities’ issues going beyond borders, like: human rights violations, irresponsible use of nature and encourage resilience towards war.
To achieve this, 8 of our youth workers will set up the network and share practices during 1 face-to-face & 1 online training. As a result, we will complement each other’s experience and produce a training toolkit and cooperative digital portfolio, incl. 8 cross-sectoral practices for competence-based personal development to empower females. We will also develop WikiVIRAGO platform and upload these educational resources.

Obj2-To build the competencies of 16 other female volunteers to use the project tools, be equipped and become role models to reach out and train other females to deal with issues, like: human rights violations, irresponsible use of nature and encourage resilience towards war.
The objective is achieved through 1 face-to-face international training event (TOT) and 1 online workshop. These educational activities will improve the competences of 16 female participants, like appreciation of equality, non- discrimination, digital competences, sustainable green practices, and activism . As an added value, we’ll also use the resources on activism from the European Democracy Passport and EU Youth Strategy Platforms.

Obj3-To motivate and enhance other 60 young females, incl. Ukrainian refugees to undertake 4 inclusive national on/offline campaign events under the title ‘We can do it!’ and involve diverse females to stand for Sustainable, Green Europe, Equality and Inclusion as part of the European Youth Goals and resilience towards war. Via organising a diversity of campaign events, these VIRAGO-empowered women will include diversified youth and initiate change. Therefore, the project aligns with the INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY priority and responds to the war in Ukraine.
