The EU’s migration and asylum policy focuses on protecting refugees, securing external borders, and integrating non-EU nationals. Commission actions aim to prevent irregular migration, uphold migrants’ rights, and implement the Common European Asylum System. Amidst challenges, the EU shows solidarity, partnering internationally to assist displaced people. Notably, Europe responded to the Ukrainian conflict with unprecedented measures. At the third meeting of the ACT Stronger EU project, led by the Altius Foundation, partners discussed immigration and security, recognizing their impact on daily life, employment, and integration across member states. Presentations covered Cyprus’s immigration landscape, including issues faced by refugees and unaccompanied minors.
