We are so glad to share today one international event which took place earlier this year in Saulkrasti, Latvia – Erasmus+ training course “Overcoming NEETs”!
In this TC, different NGOs from the EU formed a body to provide useful non-formal educational tools for young workers that are essential to analyze the reality of young NEETs, while empowering the young NEETs in their communities to let them realize their potential in opportunities.
The problem of employing disadvantaged youth is a very hot issue these days. Young people are at risk of becoming “educated unemployed” and joining the so-called NEETs (not in employment, education or training). They can be further marginalized if they are isolated from the mainstream due to their geographic location, gender, ethnicity, social status, or disability.
It was be 9 days training where youth workers worked on a thematic basis in small groups. The activities were implemented with non-formal education methods during the project such as: group works, role play games, etc.
The project was a great success and each participant returned home with an unforgettable experience and new knowledge.
