Digital cultural experiences

In the age of digital technology, adapting content is extremely important to attract and interest people. This especially applies to the concept that people often consider boring or outdated, like museum exhibitions and art galleries. One of the best examples of modern art is Van Gogh Exhibit: The Immersive Experience. Experience art like never before – lose yourself in 500,000 cubic feet of flawless projections animating Vincent van Gogh’s oeuvre. Wander through entrancing, moving images that highlight brushstrokes, detail, and color – truly illuminating the mind of the genius. Have you ever dreamt of stepping into a painting? Well now it is possible, because this technological solution created an opportunity to experience art in a whole different perspective.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is a 20,000 square foot light and sound spectacular featuring two-story projections of the artist’s most compelling works, like ,,Starry night’’, ,,Sunflowers’’ and many more. This modern exhibition invites you to encounter the brilliance of one of history’s greatest artists in 360 degrees. Expect digital displays, sound effects, projection mapping and much more! You get the sense that Van Gogh’s art comes to life – clouds in the painting float by, sunflowers move in the wind, stars shine in the night sky.

This unique and unusual concept of exhibition, designed and conceived

by Massimiliano Siccardi, opened the door to visitors in 2017. Since that exhibition has attracted more than 5 million visitors! One of the reasons for this is its rich content. This exhibition is suitable for a wide audience, including families, school groups, couples, and seniors. It welcomes guests of all ages, especially children, whose interest in art needs to be encouraged. In addition to a spacious central area where Van Gogh’s works stretch floor-to-ceiling, the experience includes separate galleries that chronicle his life, technique, and influence through informative panels, larger than life re-creations and engaging interactives. Modern exhibition also features a one of a kind Virtual Reality interactive, which guides you on a ten-minute journey through “A day in the life of the Artist.” Walk alongside Van Gogh during this peaceful, visually rich journey to discover the inspiration behind eight of his iconic works, including: Vincent’s Bedroom at Arles, and Starry Night Over The Rhone River.

Even though the exhibition was custom-designed to Chicago’s Germania Club, since its opening it has traveled all over the world, including main USA states, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Israel and China. This concept of exhibition did not go unnoticed and was appreciated in the world as it was awarded as the best immersive expierence by USA in 2021 and ranked among the 12 best immersive experiences in the world. It is clear as day that Van Gogh Exhibit: The Immersive Experience did leave no one indifferent.

This immersive way to exhibit art has encouraged many more artists to present their art in a more newfangled way. This shows that it is very important to develop digital cultural experiences as they play a significant role in our society’s involvement.
